Hyper Studio

AUGUST 7 Tin Building
Daydream Air becomes art

From the invisible currents of Invisible Ballet to the falling stars of 10 Agosto, Hyperstudio turns air, light and movement into environments where visitors become part of the work, moving through forces that can be felt before they can be seen.

Invisible Ballet a choreography made by air

A circular, helical structure generates an airstream recalling the force of a tornado, sending balloons through choreographed cycles of movement. Visitors stand at the center as balloons rise, vanish and reappear around them. Reflections multiply, boundaries dissolve, and the room reveals the unseen forces that constantly shape the world.

10 Agosto a celestial choreography of light

Inspired by Italy's Night of San Lorenzo, the work suspends twenty-two swings beneath a circular structure of moving light. Bright orbs pulse overhead like constellations as music, fog and motion reshape the room. Visitors sway beneath this artificial sky, choose a star, make a wish, and turn a fleeting tradition into a shared experience.

Bio

Hyperstudio is a multidisciplinary collective of Italian artists and designers founded in 2020. Its practice sits between reality and imagination, creating immersive installations in which art, artist and visitor share the same environment. Through light, color, movement and altered perception, the collective turns space into an active part of the works.

Hyperstudio creates environments that guide audiences beyond conventional ideas of time and physical space. Effects of light and color, the absence of fixed perspective and carefully constructed spatial shifts are used to disorient perception and open a freer imaginative field. Each installation becomes a sensory journey in which visitors are not simply observing the work from outside, but moving through it, activating it and changing their own relationship with the surrounding architecture and space.

Collaboration is central to Hyperstudio's practice. For Invisible Ballet, the collective works in partnership with Rome-based artist Mauro Pace, whose research explores art, science and human perception. Since 2008, Pace has created immersive experiences, multimedia works and kinetic installations, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to the shared investigation of movement and perception.

Mauro Pace's works have been presented internationally at institutions and festivals including Somerset House in London; Farol Santander in São Paulo; Fukuoka Science Museum in Japan; Light Art Museum in Budapest; Cannes Film Festival; Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia; Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome and Milan Design Week. His practice spans many media.
